Erin Hitsman
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Erin's Bio
Erin Hitsman served over 20 years in the non-profit sector before joining Caloosa Humane Society as the Executive Director in January 2025.

With a Biology Degree in Wildlife Conservation Management, she started her career as a Zoo Keeper for 5 years, then moved into Zoological and Non-Profit Administration. Erin worked in numerous roles at different organizations; Operations Manager, Tourism Director, Event Coordinator, Volunteer & Intern Programs Manager, Interim Marketing Manager, and focused heavily on Fundraising and Development.

She also founded and operated a 501(c)3 parrot rescue, served as the Missouri State Coordinator for the American Federation of Aviculture, sat on a variety of boards, volunteered for different organizations, and taught avian behavior and outreach in the tri-state area.

Erin is from Springfield, Missouri and moved to Hendry County in 2016. She currently lives with her loving husband Tim, 3 dogs, 3 cats and a yard full of chickens!

She is committed to serving her community and strives to make a positive change in the lives of others. Erin’s well-rounded experience and vast skill set is the perfect fit to lead Caloosa Humane Society to the next level of success.

Queila Delgado
OPERATIONS/CLINIC MANAGER
Queila's Bio
Queila is a dedicated healthcare professional with a background in animal care and administration. She holds an associate’s degree in science and engineering in technology, which complements her practical experience in healthcare operations. Having owned just about every animal you can think of, Queila brings hands-on knowledge and enjoys fostering wildlife in her free time. She is committed to providing compassionate care, efficient administrative oversight, and advocating for best practices in animal well-being.
Paul Crow
SHELTER MANAGER
Paul's Bio
With over seven years of dedicated service at the shelter Paul is a passionate advocate for homeless animals in the community. Under his leadership, the shelter has successfully facilitated countless adoptions, helping animals find their forever homes. Paul is committed to animal welfare, ensuring each animal receives the care and attention they deserve. Paul actively collaborates with local organizations and volunteers to enhance adoption outreach and promote responsible pet ownership.
Debbie Dahlberg
ADOPTION COORDINATOR
Debbie's Bio
Debbie has been with Caloosa Humane Society for 4-1/2 years. She began as a kennel tech before becoming our Adoption Coordinator. Debbie is dedicated to finding loving, safe, and lasting homes for every animal in our care. With a passion for animal welfare and years of experience with animals, Debbie plays a critical role in matching our animals with their perfect families. Whether it is a playful kitten or a senior dog looking for a quiet home, Debbie ensures that every adoption is a positive & rewarding experience for both our pets and their new family.
When not working with our shelter animals, Debbie spends time with her 4, four legged kids. Her 2 goldens, Sailor & Alex, Roxy her foster failure Siberian Husky, and Kodiak, her Eskimo Husky, who she adopted from CHS. (Pictured)
