They’ve come to us for a variety of reasons. No matter why they are at Caloosa Humane Society, they all deserve a second chance to be a member of a loving family. We’re so happy that your search for your new best friend has led you to CHS. Our shelter is full of amazing homeless pets ready to find a family of their own. Our friendly adoption staff will work with you to find just the right dog, cat or critter for your family.
All of our homeless pets are screened for health and temperament, vaccinated, wormed, spayed or neutered and micro-chipped. Your adoption includes a free wellness visit at the CHS Veterinary Clinic and a 30-day ShelterCare health insurance policy.
Florida State Law states that ALL canines and felines must be spayed or neutered when adopted from ANY type of animal shelter within the state. To comply with this law, we complete ALL spay neuter surgeries IN-HOUSE, NO EXCEPTIONS.
To adopt from the Caloosa Humane Society, Inc. you must be at least 18 years old, have a valid ID showing your home address, show proof you own your home or, if you rent, you must provide phone numbers of any landlord or condo association if applicable and the home owners insurance allows the type of pet you wish to adopt.
If you have pets already, Certification must to be shown proving the pets are up to date with a Rabies vaccination given by a licensed Veterinarian, and your county’s license, if applicable. The adoption application must be completed in full. We reserve the right to deny any adoption without cause.
