Caloosa Humane Society and the wonderful people who work there have brought boundless joy to my life in the form of four beautiful four legged, furry puppies! I have an affinity for those dogs that have spent years at the kennel, at the back of their crates, afraid to try to connect to a human. Etta (known as Jetta at the shelter) is my latest ray of sunshine. Super shy and afraid to trust, after a few short months has blossomed into a confident, loving member of the family. Molly, a pointer mix who I found only spoke Spanish in the beginning, and Polo my shy beauty who offers her paw only when she trusts you, have come out of their shells and actually vie for top dog in the house. Last but not least, is my Gunner, my heart. A human and a dog rarely have a connection like Gunner and I have. He is part of my soul and I share him with many, many people, as he is now a registered Therapy Dog who visits hospitals, airports, and helps to counsel abused children. This shelter, this bright jewel of a shelter, is like no other. The employees and volunteers adore the animals and that equates to happy, beautiful dogs and cats. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for all of my four legged gifts!
