The Joy of Fostering Kittens
Never thought I would fall in love again at 50 and again and again, but every time a helpless kitten makes it in my hands, I’m head over heels again.
For me, it’s an honor and a pleasure to give these kittens the best start in their young lives after losing their moms. I love every aspect of fostering…their eyes opening, the first time they respond to my voice, their first trip to the cat box and their complete trust in me do take care of them, sometimes it’s humbling. I don’t mind getting up at night to warm bottles, wash little kitty hineys and feed, it’s all part of the fostering experience.
The kittens learn how to be a part of my household which makes them more confident and easier to adopt when the time comes. It’s not easy for me when it’s time to get them spayed & neutered and moved to the shelter. I love every single one a hundred percent and they know it, I grieve and sometimes cry like a baby. I know I have done a great job getting them ready for their forever home. I anxiously await the next baby to make it into my hands and into my heart…I love it.
